Shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, troopers were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Whiteford Road and Route 646 in Harford County that left several people with undisclosed injuries.
The initial investigation determined that a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 being driven by a 20-year-old man from Bel Air was traveling north on Route 646 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection, when he struck a Ford F-450 pick-up truck being driven by a 63-year-old man from Whiteford.
Police said that a 14-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Toyota suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center by a Maryland State Police helicopter.
The drivers of the two vehicles were transported by ambulances to area hospitals for treatment and evaluation of their injuries.
A State Police collision reconstructionist has now taken over the investigation. No other information was initially released by investigators.
