Beacon Sloop Club Celebrates Pumpkin Festival

Beginning at noon volunteers will serve traditional Sloop Club chili, stone soup and other treats. Featured will be Hudson Valley pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, freshly baked pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup and apple cider -- hot and cold. Other foods will be available to purchase.

The afternoon will also feature live music on two solar-powered music stages. The main stage features Cosby Gibson, Dan Einbender, Ingrid Heldt, Lost Ryders of the Wawayanda, Rick Nestler & the Dirty Stay Out Skiffers, Susan Reid Bozso and Vinnie & Maryellen Cerniglia.

Also featured are environmental displays, as well as booths with the work of area artisans and craftsman. Many free children's activities are planned.

Metro-North trains run hourly. The festival takes place right next to the Beacon train station.
